SL2023-733/ULWI Starting air valve Failure to close

We have recently received reports of the starting air main valve not closing after activation. The result is in a continuous drainage of the starting air pressure from the air tank reservoir until a point where the engine is not able to start.

Possible scenario:
If the engine telegraph is moved to a start command position and is then regretted within two seconds during engine standby, the main starting air valve will stay open until the engine telegraph is moved to a new start position.
