DNV: 45 alternative-fuelled vessels ordered in Q1 of 2026
According to DNV’s Alternative Fuels Insight (AFI) platform, five new orders were recorded in March, bringing the total number of alternative-fuelled vessels ordered in the first quarter of 2026 to 45.
The latest AFI data provides a snapshot of how the alternative-fuelled orderbook is evolving, with March reflecting a relatively slow month. As noted by Kristian Hammer, product manager for AFI and senior consultant at DNV, the new orders included two LNG-fuelled car carriers, two LPG carriers, and one methanol-fuelled PSV.
