Initiative urges US government to back biofuels in view of MEPC 84
The American Biofuels Maritime Initiative (ABMI) has urged the U.S. government to take a leading role and highlight the role biofuels at the IMO, as it develops new global rules for shipping fuels.
In a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, issues on 23 April, ABMI stresses that upcoming decisions by the 84th Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 84, April 27 – 1 May) will shape the future of maritime energy, and that U.S. leadership is essential to ensure policies remain flexible and inclusive.
