Fortescue and CMB.TECH sign for 12 ammonia-capable bulk carriers
Fortescue and CMB.TECH have signed an agreement to charter up to 12 ammonia-capable Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels (210,000 dwt) from CMB.TECH’s shipping operator, Bocimar.
The deal is intended to support the adoption of ammonia as a low-emissions marine fuel. As informed by Fortescue, under the agreement, up to three vessels will be delivered with dual-fuel ammonia engines and are expected to enter service by the end of 2026.
