Maersk advances fuel trials with 100% ethanol bunkering by barge
Maersk has announced that its dual-fuel containership Laura Mærskmarked a new milestone in its ongoing fuel trials, operating on 100% ethanol as part of efforts to evaluate future low-emission fuel pathways.
As stated, unlike earlier tests, the latest bunkering operation took place in Rotterdam in early June on a larger scale, with fuel delivered by barge. This allowed for a more comprehensive assessment of operational procedures, supply chain readiness, and fuel handling under conditions closer to real-world commercial operations.
