Green Marine and MI join forces to strengthen methanol safety and crew training
Green Marine and MI – The Global Methanol Alliance have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening crew training, developing technical guidance and supporting the safe operation of methanol-powered vessels as the global fleet continues to expand.
According to the announcement issued on 22 October 2026, more than 150 methanol-capable vessels are already operating worldwide, with over 290 additional vessels on order. As methanol bunkering infrastructure expands across major ports, the industry is increasingly shifting its attention from vessel construction and fuel availability to the operational challenges associated with using methanol safely at sea and in port.
